Hideki Matsuyama, 2021 Masters Champion - some insights into his Srixon & TaylorMade WITB.

This week, we're proud to recognize Japanese Pro Golfer, Hideki Matsuyama for an impressive navigation of the greatest golf tournament in the world, and to be the first Japanese golfer to win a PGA Major Tournament. And he did it with a sweet combo setup of Srixon and TaylorMade clubs we're all too familiar with. We wish Hideki-san all the best and a big congratulations.

Get to know what was in Hideki's bag this weekend at The Masters - Srixon Driver, TaylorMade 3-wood and Hybrid, Srixon Z-Forged irons, and Cleveland wedges.

See how you compare with our Free Online Club Fitting Quiz.

  • The Driver: a Srixon ZX5 with Graphite Design Tour AD DI 8 TX shaft.  The Tour AD DI has been one of the favorites on the PGA Tour.  In March, we reviewed the brand new Graphite Design Tour AD HD wood shafts and saw improvements over the previous shafts including the Graphite Design Tour AD XC wood shafts. Read our review.
  • The 3-wood: a TaylorMade SIM2 Titanium (15 degrees) with Graphite Design Tour AD TP 9 TX shaft. This is an interesting setup, but every pro is unique when it comes to optimizing performance from their swing. This was exactly the mindset we took when evaluating the best fairway wood and shaft combos, seeing great results from the Graphite Design Tour AD XC 7 shaft when paired with the SIM Max - note: **for stronger players only.** Read our best fairway wood and shaft combos blog.
  • The Utility: a TaylorMade SIM UDI (3), Graphite Design Tour AD DI Hybrid 115 TX. Coming soon, we'll release our Best Hybrids for 2021 blog. Check out our Best Hybrids for 2020 to see how Titleist, Tour Edge and TaylorMade stacked up against Callaway and Tour Edge.
  • The Irons: the Srixon Z-Forged (4-PW), Tour Issue True Temper Dynamic Gold S400. The "ultimate Srixon players iron," the Z Forged is a true beauty and one that complements a combo with ZX7's for the low handicapper that wants a bit more forgiveness in the long irons. Read our review of the new 2021 Srixon ZX5, ZX7, and Z Forged irons.
  • The Wedges: Cleveland RTX4 Forged 52°, 56° and 60º True Temper Dynamic Gold S400 Tour Issue.

Hideki-san isn't the only Tour player that combos their bag. Get the setup that gives you the length, precision and confidence needed to help you improve your game. Take our no obligation, Free Club Fitting Quiz to see what configurations will work best for you.
